Easy to Grow Bulbs Reviews: What Gardeners Are Saying About This Company

There is no record of my payment either in my e mail or on the website. I received part of what I believe I ordered. No customer service option on website. No account information on website. NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!.

Placed an order for fairly general bulbs in late August- Spanish bluebells, anemone Blanca and saffron crocus. Was promised a ship date when the order was placed. Even though I’ve emailed customer service several times, there is still no ship date a few days before Halloween. They keep sending vague promises that they are coming but no specifics. The only answer I’ve gotten so far is that they’ll send them to me as soon as they get them from their suppliers. This makes me think they sold me things they didn’t have and didn’t know when they would get them. They processed my payment the day after I placed my order, so they are good at getting your money but not so good at getting the product to you. Don’t waste your money.

I ordered two 3-packs of Alstromeria plants from Easytogrow bulbs, and was delighted when they arrived this April…. Each plant was pretty big. They were carefully packed… no damage during shipping. I will definitely order more plants from this outfit!.

I bought Mrs. F. D. Roosevelt peony 3 years ago from this company on Etsy. When the peonies finally bloomed, I was shocked to find that they weren’t the ones I had bought! I emailed to ask what kind of peonies I had received, but customer service wasn’t helpful. On their website, you can’t write a bad review, which should tell you something about the kind of business they run.

They said that the item shipped, but it only shows a shipping label created but bulbs never arrived. It was only $35 but it is my fault, I should have checked reviews beforehand.

Do not waste your money on this company. I had a terrible experience with them. I never got the tracking number for my order or the order itself. I have been writing to their customer support and after a month they finally replied. They do not want to take any responsibility for their failure and I didnt receive a refund. I am so disappointed! Never again ordering from them!.

This company is awful! I would give them no stars if I could. The roots I ordered were dry and never grew to be anything. I sent the company five emails trying to get the money back for the ranunculus corms that didn’t grow, but all they would do is give me a credit to buy more of their dead stock. It took five emails before I finally got my money back for the items that didn’t grow. They only talk to you through emails, which tells you something! Their prices are way too high, and their shipping costs are out of this world! Don’t waste your money on this company; you’ll only get dead roots.

I ordered 2 huge boxes of plants that were delivered yesterday. One box wasn’t packed well enough; the tape came off, revealing plants that were dead or couldn’t be saved. The 2nd box was irises that were thoroughly dried out and filled with hardly any dirt. I immediately contacted the company via email with supporting photos. No response. There is no one there to answer the phone. SHOP ELSEWHERE.

Wish I had read online reviews before ordering. A very simple order of 20 gladiolus bulbs, 10 Arcadia and 10 Union Jack. I planted them to go with some mature hybrid tea roses. So far, six of the ten Arcadia plants have sprouted (no blooms yet), but only one of the ten Union Jack plants has sprouted, so it’s not likely that it will bloom, and one of the UJ corms was about the size of a dime when it was time to plant it. It took a lot longer than expected to get the order, so the bulbs were planted before Father’s Day instead of early May as planned. The invoice didn’t show a ship date, but the order date was April 16, 24. I didn’t get the bulbs until June. I do not expect a refund or replacement. This company has taught me a lesson: I will never order from them again. I hope this review helps other gardeners know what to expect. Looking back, I should have gone to Lowes or Home Depot to see how good the bulbs were before buying them. It was clear that no one there did that, especially with the UJ bulbs.

I ordered several different items. Several weeks later, most have arrived, I almost with they hadnt. One of the three amaryllis bulbs I ordered was only half as big as a premium bulb, and the other had been growing for weeks in the tiny paper bag it came in. It goes without saying that this one is a bust. Of three cyclamen corms, one was completely desiccated and dead. Customer service was bad and not helpful; emails didn’t answer to problems or offer to help in any way. I wish I had looked here first before relying on their slick, professional looking web site. I didn’t lose too much money because I got a big discount on my first order as a new customer. I will never order from them again.

Only received half my order, sent an email asking about the remainder. I got 3 different answers so I asked for a refund. They told me in an email that they would refund my money, but not for all the products I never received. Not only can they not ship on time they cant count either. Worst company Ive dealt with and I will never be ordering from them again. I gave them almost 3 weeks to make it right. I placed my order on May 2, 2024, and I’m not sure where the other half of it is. Once they said it was ready to ship, then they said it was ready to be packed, and finally they said it hadn’t arrived at their warehouse yet.

Dont ever buy from this company. They sent me a silver lace vine that was already flowering, so it didn’t grow because it thought it was big enough to flower already. It stands 1 foot tall. they refused to send me my money back!.

I ordered 3 plants 10 days ago and have yet to receive any updates without contacting them 1st. They continue to state that it is in process in their facility. Really? Poor customer service! I called and only get voicemail, no one has returned my call.

Pathetic, childish people, whom are corrupt and blame customers for it. Ive been ordering since 2009 from these people. Around 2019 new ownership took over and has destroyed the quality and is now cheating people. When you call them on it, they blame you and then wont communicate. They pack things in fall and dont look at them again before they are shipped in Spring. This makes a stinky, rotting mess that should never have been put in the box to fulfill an order. They avoid customers and making things right. They will blame customers for their bad behavior and condemn them, but they will never take responsibility for the thousands of bad reviews and complaints. Dont be enticed by the pretty pictures. Its not what you will get. Reading the many other reviews on this site and others shows that I’m definitely not the only one having problems with these shady people. They are not friends of the gardening community and use it to their advantage to scam people.

As others have indicated, this company has horrendous customer service. If you talk to them through chat, the representative acts sketchy and doesn’t give you any real information (she just repeats useless information and isn’t sure what she’s saying). If you call them, they dont answer the calls and just put you into voicemail.

Terrible company to deal with. I placed an order on February 25, 2023, and after several attempts to get in touch, I finally got the package on April 26, 2023, which was well into planting season in central Florida. Ordered 8 different flowers and not one thrived. One flower was said to do well in zones 4–8, so I knew it was a risk, but it never even came up from the ground. Even normally easy bulbs like daylily, gladiolas and oriental lily dint bloom or didnt even emerge. I even ordered an Ixia mix with 80 bulbs. 80 bulbs, and not a single flower! I got beautiful TALL grasses and a few heads that look like papyrus or weeds, but not a single flower. All of that was bad enough, but the worst part was that when I wrote to Easy To Grow Bulbs, they never even replied! I should buy plants at a local nursery or hardware store instead, where I can return failed plants and get new ones or my money back.

Good bulbs, but shipping is very slow (over a month for items that say “in stock” on their website).

It’s been three times in five years that I’ve bought bulbs and rhizomes from this seller, and each time I’ve been let down. The first order was for six Veltheimia bulbs. All of them grew (with a virus!) and had to be thrown away. The second order was for Amaryllis belladonna (white ones). They arrived as mummified, hollowed out husks of bulbs. Then the most recent order was for Achimene rhizomes. Both cultivars arrived dried up, withered and brittle packets of scales. I would not order anything from this vendor again.

I placed an order for a peach-colored Legolas gladiolus in April 2023 after being told they were back in stock. Gladiolus The Bride wasn’t there and didn’t grow, but the other bulbs were in great shape. I planted them too late, though, so only one bloomed in the season I ordered it for (August 2022). It was a garish purple/yellow bicolor. because the garden is used for weddings, so the color clash was awful. I waited until this year (July 2024) to see what color the rest of the bulbs were because I thought the one color might have been a fluke. All have been wrong color. I sent proof of my order along with pictures of both the promised bulb and the actual bulb, but I haven’t heard anything back yet—not even an acknowledgement that I sent the request. I recently re-sent the same information as a second request. After sending the first request, I found a complaint from April 2024 about a gladiolus of the same color. The customer said they received purple and yellow — not pink– flowering bulbs. Reading other reviews makes it clear that this company has a problem that doesn’t just happen sometimes. I agree that you should stay away from them. It was within their power to avoid this negative review. I did not go public with my experience until they failed to address the issue.

Fast shipping, plants came alive and in good condition. They were healthy and are still thriving several months later.

Easy to Grow Bulbs Reviews on Trustpilot

  • Products arriving dried out, dead, moldy, or otherwise unusable
  • Wrong products being shipped
  • Very delayed shipping times, sometimes months after order
  • Unhelpful or nonexistent customer service

Another 1-star review mentions receiving the “wrong color” of gladiolus bulbs that bloomed bright purple and yellow instead of the peach shades ordered.

Reviews of Easy to Grow Bulbs on Other Sites

On the BBB, they have 1.25 out of 5 stars based on over 30 customer reviews warning shoppers to “not waste your money” on this company.

Common Themes in Easy to Grow Bulbs Reviews

Looking across all the customer feedback reveals consistent issues popping up time and again:

  • Dead, diseased, or wrong plants shipped: By far the most common complaint is plants arriving unusable, often months later than the ideal planting time. Wrong items are also frequently shipped.

  • No refunds: Customers describe constant battles to get refunds for dead or incorrect plants, with Easy to Grow Bulbs refusing refunds in most cases.

  • Terrible customer service: Reviews mention unanswered emails and calls, unclear responses, unhelpful service, and long lag times before hearing back.

  • Misleading website: The beautiful plant photos on the site don’t match the poor quality products received. Website also lacks basic company info and ship dates.

  • Overpriced: Given the poor quality and service, many reviewers say it’s not worth the high prices charged. Better value found elsewhere.

Clearly there are systemic problems at this company across product quality, fulfillment, and customer service according to the overwhelming negative feedback.

Positive Easy to Grow Bulbs Reviews Are Rare

Occasionally, a positive review praising Easy to Grow Bulbs pops up, like one 5-star review on Trustpilot. But these glowing experiences are vastly outnumbered by the endless negative feedback.

A few customers report receiving healthy plants shipped quickly. But the overwhelming majority face multiple issues, often with no resolution from customer service.

In general, the positive reviews lack details or seem questionable. Meanwhile, the bad reviews provide photos, documentation, and extensive details on problems encountered.

Bottom line: The negative Easy to Grow Bulbs reviews sound much more credible overall.

Should You Order from Easy to Grow Bulbs?

So should you actually buy from Easy to Grow Bulbs, given the concerning feedback? Here are some factors to consider:

Proceed With Caution

  • If you absolutely must order a specialty plant only they carry, place a small test order first. But expect potential issues.

  • Stick to large in-stock items, avoid pre-orders or backorders that may ship late.

  • Document everything and only pay with a credit card for some fraud protection.

Avoid This Company

  • For common plant varieties, go local or use reputable national retailers like Breck’s or Dutch Grown with better reviews.

  • Don’t waste money here if you need plants for a specific planting time or event – delays are likely.

  • If you want reliable customer service, warranted plants, and fair refund policies, look elsewhere.

The Bottom Line
Easy to Grow Bulbs has garnered awful feedback across multiple review sites for shipping dead plants, sending incorrect items, offering terrible customer service, and refusing to satisfy unhappy customers. While you may get lucky, the overwhelming number of negative reviews suggest this is a risky company to order from. For the best experience, take your business to nurseries with much better reputations and proven track records of satisfying gardeners.
