Pond Plants of America: A Review of This Top Online Aquatic Plant Seller

Fabuléis Service, plants etc good quality and arrime on good condición. Staff fab and good advice and knowledge. Use you every time.

Thank you for your personal responses to my email questions and requests — plus prompt delivery as ever.

Plants arrived in great condition and are thriving since planting. There was a big difference in quality between these plants and ones I bought at the garden center, which died almost right away. The fact that these plants were grown in cooler UK water really makes a difference. The advice on their site has helped me turn a stagnant eyesore into the gem of my garden. After just a few weeks of adding these plants, the water quality and wildlife in my pond have changed for the better.

The plants came quickly in sturdy packaging with water to make sure they would survive the mail (mine were frost hardy). If your pond plants aren’t frost hardy, they hold on to your order until the last frost is over (or very close) to make sure your plants do. If you want UK native pond plants, this is the place to go.

I had a hard time deciding which plants to put in my new wildlife pond, so I gave up and chose their shady pond package. I was pleased with the selection provided and instructions on the plant cards. It was well packaged and is taking well to the pond.

Really quick dispatch/delivery and all plants were really healthy and came well packaged. They’re doing great in my new pond. One type of plant has already started flowering after only a couple of weeks, and all the others are growing new leaves. Highly recommend.

The plants were well packed and good quality. They are thriving in my new pond. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the delivery. It was supposed to be delivered overnight, but the delivery company kept sending me “delayed” messages with no explanation, and they insisted I had to be home to accept the package. Very frustrating.

Thanks for your review. Even though I’m glad you like the plants, I’m sorry the couriers failed to deliver them on time. Their overnight service costs money, so that’s what we expect them to do. I will let them know what you think. Going forward, please let us know if there are any issues with the delivery, and we’ll take care of them for you.

This spring, I cleaned and refilled my pond. I chose to turn it into a wildlife pond instead of a fish pond for decoration. So Ive begun to repopulate it with a variety of plants from Plants for Ponds. This is working out very well. The plants I have received have all been strong and healthy and the pond is looking better already. Highly recommended.

Prompt attention from Lucy to my initial queries, order, subsequent add ons. Ongoing help from Lucy. Excellent quality plants arrived very well packaged and in good order. Subsequent small order placed. I will use Plants for Ponds again and tell others who are looking for aquatic plants and other things to do with ponds to go there.

Have ordered from Plants for Ponds a few times now, delighted with plants and service. Latest delivery a couple of plants were damaged in transit, however Lucy sorted problem immediately. The replacements were delivered today in excellent condition. Will definitely use Plants for Ponds again.

Great plants, arrived promptly and well packaged. I placed my order a little too late in the season, so the waterlily flowers won’t be in bloom until next year. The oxygenators are doing their job of keeping the water clear Maybe a little expensive.

Plants for Ponds gave me the whole experience you’d expect from a company that cares about its customers and acts in an honest way, which is hard to find these days. A mis-delivered and possibly damaged plant was replaced instantly, and full response given to a question about planting. Perfect.

I had a problem with one of the plants that got damaged in transit, but there was no problem with getting a replacement. The other plants arrived in perfect condition, and I even made some suggestions about how to package them so that damage in transit doesn’t happen again. Will buy from them again next year after this year’s order has been filled and I know what else I need.

Lucy at Plants for Ponds kept me up to date on when one of the plants I had ordered would be ready and was able to offer a good replacement. She was also very helpful when my order arrived damaged in transit. A replacement was sent out within days and was perfect.

Thank you for taking time to review our plants and service. If you require anymore help or advice, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I’m a new owner, but when I went to the pond store near me, the plants seemed pretty pricey. Even when they got there, they looked a little worn out. But again, I have no idea what I’m seeing. I probably wouldnt buy from here again unless they was a sale on!.

I’ve ordered a few things from Plants for Ponds, and I have to say that Lucy’s customer service is absolutely top-notch! Not only does she provide great service when I first place my order, but she also does a great job with customer service after the sale, which is sadly lacking these days. The plants I’ve received from them have done very well, especially when I followed the instructions about how deep to plant them. I wouldnt think of looking elsewhere for plants (or snails) for my pond.

I took over a neglected 110 sq. pond in front of the flats where I live. It looked terrible. It was also strange that it was costing a lot of money every year for “maintenance.” Since they didn’t know much about ponds, they looked online and found that plants could be used to control the water quality by providing shade. I contacted Plants for Ponds, who have an extensive website. I decided to simply ask them for help. The owner, Lucy, spent time giving advice & making planting suggestions. We initially mainly bought water lilies for shading the pond. The pond looked great the first year, and even though the plants cost money, we saved money by not having an empty pond. In year 2 we added marginals like grasses, rushes and extra lilies. Residents and visitors alike think the pond looks wonderful and we’ve made huge savings in maintenance costs. Without Plants for Ponds & Lucy’s help this would have been so much harder to achieve.

Thanks for taking the time to review us. Im so glad the pond is looking great and all the residents are enjoying it!.

There was a very good range of oxygenating (and other) plants, with helpful descriptions. My chosen plants arrived promptly, and packed in a way that kept them safe in transit. They are doing very well in my pond.

Super friendly service with great advice and dynamic customer service. Plants arrived well packed with no damages which I was impressed about. Sent dimensions and photos of my pond project and received excellent advice and ideas. 1yr on and my pond is flourishing. Very happy. Would recommend to anyone and use again. Stuart Small.

Plants arrived quickly and well packaged. The label told the courier that the package contained living things, so they put the box in the shade. Thanks.

FAQ

What are the best plants to stop algae in ponds?

The role of pond plants extends beyond aesthetics; they also act as nature’s filters. Submerged plants like water lilies, hornwort, and water hyacinths play a vital role in oxygenating water and shading the pond. By limiting sunlight penetration, these plants create less favorable conditions for algae to thrive.

Do pond plants come back every year?

Most aquatic plants (with the exception of tropical lilies and water hyacinths) can be left in the pond through the winter. Trim back all dead foliage, then submerge the plants in the bottom or deeper section of the pond to prevent the plants from freezing. Hardy water garden plants will come back year after year.

Can I put plants from my pond in my fish tank?

The tank should be prepared and cycled in advance in order to achieve the best results with your outside plants. Lighting is particularly important, as these plants have been growing outside where the lighting is naturally obtained from the sun. Don’t scrimp on plant care just because this is a quarantine tank.
