22 Dazzling Red and Green Christmas Wreath Ideas to Brighten Your Holidays

Early this week, I showed you my holiday-themed green and red kitchen. I also showed you a wreath I made especially for this year. When I worked with Tree Classics this holiday season, they let me pick out some things I wanted to try. I asked them to send me a huge box of red and green break-proof Christmas ornaments to use for this wreath. To be honest, I only used half of the container. It went a long way, since it holds 100 ornaments. Of course, you can use whatever ornaments you have on hand. It’s fun to mix up the colors!.

I haven’t used my glue gun in a long time, but this wreath turned out great with it. I showed you years ago an ornament wreath I made out of an old wire hanger and glass ornaments. This isn’t a new idea, though; a lot of other people have done the same thing. But, this time I think it’s even better using the hot glue gun. Everything is pretty stable on this wreath now and I can store it and use it later.

I used this old grapevine wreath to make a magnolia leaf wreath. The leaves were getting so dry that I had to get rid of them, so I snapped them off and had a wreath that was ready to be decorated again.

I poured out my ornaments and grouped the colors together. I made sure to alternate the colors and textures all around the wreath as I moved along.

I began with the outside and hot-glued my way around the wreath, holding each ornament in place until the glue was dry enough to let go. It took some time because hot glue needs time to cool down, and while it does that, the ornaments can move if you’re not careful.

I finally got the outer layer complete and ready to tackle the next layer. This one went a little faster because the ends weren’t just hanging there; they had something to rest on, which were the ones that were already there. You want to hide the end hangers as much as possible.

When I got inside, there were a few spaces where I couldn’t fit another ornament. So, I went through my bins of red and green ornaments and chose some medium-sized and small ornaments to fill in the gaps.

I had some fun ornaments in the shape of gift boxes, stars, and bulbs that I liked adding. The little pieces really finished it off and filled in the gaps. I LOVE how it turned out! I’ll definitely be saving this wreath to use again.

I got the ribbon at Michaels and made the bow myself. It looked like a good place to hang this little “Better Not Pout” sign I’ve had for a long time. It adds a lot of fun festive spirit to my red and green kitchen. You could definitely make this in any color combination and it would l look great.
