An Overview of Sedum telephium ‘Seduction Green-Pink’
Part of the expansive Stonecrop genus, Sedum telephium ‘Seduction Green-Pink’ is a compact selection of Orpine or Live-forever. Its thick blue-green leaves form a tidy clump or trailing mound, with plump pink flower heads appearing in late summer through fall.
Unlike many Sedums only reaching 4-8 inches tall, ‘Seduction Green-Pink’ grows 12-15 inches high and 24 inches wide. The stout stems remain upright into autumn before new growth emerges the following spring. It thrives with minimal care in full sun to partial shade.

Potential Problems and Solutions for Growing Sedum telephium
This rugged perennial has excellent pest and disease resistance, but watch for:
-
Fungal leaf spots – Improve airflow and avoid overhead watering. Remove affected foliage promptly.
-
Root rot – Caused by overly damp soil. Improve drainage and allow soil to dry between waterings.
-
Aphids – Dislodge with a strong spray of water. Apply insecticidal soap if infestations persist.
-
Slug damage – Use organic baits and remove them by hand to protect tender new growth.
-

Sedum telephium ‘Seduction Green Yellow’
What is Sedum seduction?
Sedum Seduction is from our own breeding. With basal branched and short upright flower stems, this series is a significant improvement in the Sedum telephium group. It sets new standards with its large flower heads, the comparable small foliage and unique colours. Suitable for 13-19 cm pots.
Which Sedum is best for pollinators?
Like most sedums it’s a valuable late source of nectar for pollinators, particularly butterflies. Hylotelephium spectabile ‘Carl’ produces masses of flat, bright pink flowerheads in autumn, on upright stems. Formerly called Sedum spectabile. Hylotelephium telephium ‘Purple Emperor’ is grown for its foliage, which becomes darker as it matures.
Are sedum plants pest-free?
Sedums are relatively pest-free. The main enemy is cold, wet soil, so make sure stonecrops in pots do not become waterlogged in winter – move them somewhere that is sheltered from rain. Hylotelephium ‘Herbstfreude’ has succulent, light green leaves and contrasting salmon-pink summer flowers, which mature to orange-red in autumn.
What is a sedum ice plant?
Sedums are succulent plants with fleshy leaves and flat, nectar-rich flowerheads that are loved by bees and other pollinators. Border sedums, also known as ice plants, have now been reclassified as Hylotelephium.
